Keep track of your favorite Twitch and Kick streamers from any browser tab. Stream Notifier adds a draggable floating button that opens a responsive dashboard showing who is live, along with thumbnails, viewer counts, favorites, quick previews, and direct links to each stream.
🚀 Getting Started
- Install the extension and pin it from your extension menu for easy access.
- Open the Streamers panel and add a Twitch or Kick channel, or use + This Page while visiting a supported channel.
- Mark important creators as favorites and allow notifications when prompted.
- Leave the extension running—status checks and live alerts continue automatically in the background.
✨ New Features (v3.42.0.5)
- Improvement: Added a Settings option to hide the Twitch and Kick import buttons in the main panel. This setting is included in full backups.
- New Feature: Import followed Twitch or Kick channels, review the detected list, and choose which channels to add. Only channels currently loaded on the Following page can be detected.
- Bug Fix: The import review now fits narrow screens.
- Bug Fix: The Streamers panel now reopens normally after an extension update.
- Bug Fix: Clicking the toolbar button while a page is loading no longer opens an extra Twitch tab.
- Improvement: Site access is requested only for the streaming site currently open.
- Bug Fix: The Streamers button and position lock return after site access is granted or the extension is updated.
⭐ Key Features
- Scoped Backups: Profile backup/import changes one selected profile; Settings backup/import handles all profiles and global preferences, including toolbar behavior, saved position, polling interval, and dismissed suggestions.
- Responsive Twitch Navigation: The Streamers button stays beside Browse and its adjacent menu, reducing width and hiding its TV icon in smaller windows.
- Stream Titles: Live cards show available titles with hover/focus scrolling. Single-streamer alerts include the full available title, subject to system notification display limits.
- Complete Toolbar Panel: Access profiles, channels, sessions, exclusions, and settings from the extension icon. Pages that cannot host the panel open Twitch to display it.
- Twitch and Kick Tracking: Monitor individual creators on either platform, or track the same creator on both platforms from one entry.
- Session Dashboard: Review newly live, recently ended, longest-live, rising-viewer, and favorite activity per profile. Session history is local, bounded, manually clearable, and optionally cleared on a schedule.
- Favorite-First Checks: Favorites are checked immediately when selected, every 30 seconds on a coordinated priority cycle, and first during complete status checks.
- Live Desktop Alerts: Receive click-to-open notifications when a tracked streamer goes live, with cooldowns, duplicate prevention, grouped summaries for busy startup checks, and optional favorite alert sounds.
- Flexible Snooze Options: Pause notifications for preset or custom durations, indefinitely, or through a recurring quiet-hours schedule with an optional favorite exception.
- Streamer Management: Add channels manually, detect creators from supported pages, import from Twitch Following, search tracked channels, and use clickable close-match suggestions when a name is mistyped.
- Profiles and Favorites: Create separate profiles such as Gaming, Work, or Late Night, then pin favorites to the top of each profile.
- Live Cards and Previews: View status dots, thumbnails, viewer counts, recent alert details, direct stream links, inline previews, and compact audio controls.
- Private Insights Dashboard: Reveal Stats for Nerds from Settings to view local activity totals, performance records, streaks, platform breakdowns, and a 14-day chart.
- Responsive Dashboard: Choose Full, Compact, or Mini density, filter by platform, hide offline channels, and retain your place during background refreshes.
- Mobile-Friendly Layout: Phone-width screens use a safe-area-aware bottom drawer, touch-friendly controls, stable scrolling, short-lived NEW badges, and responsive card grids.
- Custom Appearance and Placement: Includes dark mode, seasonal themes, custom colors, adjustable opacity, Simple UI, draggable positioning, an optional attached lock, and collision avoidance with YouTube Notifier when both off-site controls are enabled.
- Site Exclusions: Hide the global overlay on selected domains, paths, or wildcard URL patterns while continuing to use it elsewhere.
- Backup and Recovery: Import/export configurations, create manual backups, or use deduplicated automatic backups with configurable retention and empty-profile recovery.
- Performance for Large Lists: Progressive row creation, bounded status history, lazy thumbnails, and cleanup of detached controls keep long-running tabs responsive.
- Toolbar Shortcuts: Use the extension-icon menu to open the panel, check immediately, add or remove the current channel, manage notification sleep, or open support links.
🔐 Permissions & Privacy

- Context Menus: Adds extension-icon shortcuts for panel access, status checks, current-channel management, notification sleep, and support links.
