About this extension
ChatGPT Usage Overlay places your current usage information directly on ChatGPT in a small, unobtrusive panel.
Features:
- Shows usage percentages for the limit windows available on your account, such as five-hour and weekly limits
- Displays reset countdowns, with the full reset date and time available on hover
- Learns from your usage to estimate how many send attempts may remain
- Refreshes when ChatGPT opens, every 30 seconds, when you return to the tab, or whenever you click Refresh
- Can be moved, minimized, or docked beside ChatGPT’s Share button
- Automatically adjusts when the browser window is resized
- Remembers its position, docking, and minimized state across reloads and browser restarts
- Clearly indicates when usage is loading, unavailable, or requires you to sign in
Remaining-use estimates are experimental. They are based on observed percentage changes and local send-attempt counts, so they may vary depending on the model, tools, context, and complexity of your requests.
Privacy:
The extension uses your existing ChatGPT session only to request usage information from ChatGPT. Session information is never stored, logged, displayed, sent to the developer, or shared with third-party services.
Usage-estimation data and overlay preferences are stored locally in Firefox. There is no analytics or telemetry.
ChatGPT Usage Overlay is dependency-free and fully open source:
