.Compact Video Sever detects media candidates and manages downloads inside the user's browser. Detected media URLs, page metadata, download progress, and resumable temporary media data are not sent to the developer's server.
When the user opens the problem-report page and presses Send, the add-on asks for Firefox's optional data-transmission permission. If the user agrees, the following information may be sent to the support server:
- the hostname shown in the report form;
- the issue category, description, and reproduction steps entered by the user;
- the add-on version, browser name, and display language;
- an optional reply email address entered by the user.
Problem reports are limited to one report every 30 minutes. The add-on does not automatically send media URLs, browsing history, page HTML, passwords, cookies, or payment-card information.
Billing is disabled in the initial Firefox test build. If paid access is enabled in a later version, its privacy policy and Firefox data permissions will be updated before release.
Privacy questions can be sent through the add-on's problem-report form. The form requests Firefox's optional data-transmission permission before sending.
