Crewfather Clipper Privacy Policy

The Crewfather Clipper is a browser extension by [Bates Webtech LLC] ("we", "us") that lets signed-in Crewfather users save supplier product information from a webpage into their Crewfather workspace. This policy covers the extension itself. Data stored in your Crewfather workspace is governed by the main Crewfather Privacy Policy (link).

What the extension reads, and when

The extension reads the contents of a webpage only when you click the Clipper icon on that page. It has no access to pages you do not clip, does not run in the background on the sites you visit, and does not collect your browsing history.

When you clip a page, the extension reads from that one page:

• the page address (URL) and title
• the page's visible text and structured product metadata (JSON-LD, meta tags)

Where that data goes and why

When you choose "Extract product from this page," the page content above is sent to Crewfather's servers, where an AI model extracts structured product fields (name, SKU, category, unit, price, description) for you to review. The page content is processed to perform that extraction and is not kept as a copy of the page. If you then save, the extracted fields you approved and the page URL are stored in your Crewfather workspace as supplier and product records, like any other data you enter into Crewfather.

We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the infrastructure providers that run Crewfather (for example, Cloudflare, which hosts our servers and the AI models that perform extraction).

Sign-in

The extension does not ask for or store your password. It uses the session from your existing sign-in to the Crewfather web app, and only ever communicates with [app.crewfather.com]. Signing out of the Crewfather web app disconnects the extension.

What the extension stores on your device

Nothing. The extension keeps no local database and sets no cookies of its own.

Analytics

The extension contains no analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.

Permissions, in plain terms

• Read the page you're on (activeTab, scripting): used only at the moment you click the Clipper on a page, to read that page for extraction.
• Access to [app.crewfather.com]: used to talk to your own Crewfather account.

Your choices and rights

Every clip is user-initiated, and every extracted field is shown for review before anything is saved. Products and suppliers saved through the Clipper can be edited or deleted in Crewfather like any other record. For data access or deletion requests, contact us at [support@crewfather.com].

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes to what thelso be reflected in the store listing.
