KBchess — Release Notes (v0.3.0)

New

Pawn Keys (G/H/U): once you've selected a pawn, G moves/captures up-right, H up-left, and U moves straight up — no need to type the full destination coordinate.
Automatic promotion: promoting is now seamless. Select a pawn on the promotion-adjacent rank, press a Pawn Key, then a Piece Key (W/E/I/O) to choose Rook, Knight, Bishop, or Queen. No separate "arm" key required.

Changed

SHRN Piece Keys remapped: W = Rook, E = Knight, I = Bishop, O = Queen, M = King (Lichess only).
Always on: KBchess no longer has an on/off toggle per site — it's simply active on Lichess and Chess.com whenever installed, with no extra permission prompts to manage.

Removed

Removed the Pro Shortcut Keys subscription feature entirely, along with reselect (previously E, then V) and directional nudge shortcuts.

Fixed

Space bar now properly cancels premoves on Lichess — previously it cleared KBchess's own tracking but left the queued coordinate sitting in the move input; it now clears the input itself too.

Under the hood

Removed unused browser permissions (activeTab, scripting, alarms, storage) — the extension now requests only direct access to Lichess and Chess.com.
