About this extension
Import the recipe from the page you are reading into your Origano account, even behind a paywall or an anti-bot wall.
The official companion extension for Origano, the recipe and meal planning app at origano.app.
It imports the recipe from the page you are reading straight into your account. Click the toolbar icon, pick the recipe book, and it is saved with its ingredients, its steps and its photo.
It works on the pages other clippers give up on
Most recipe clippers ask a server to download the page for you. A site behind a paywall, a Cloudflare check or an anti-bot wall hands that server a login screen instead of the article. It hands your browser the real thing, because you are already signed in and you look like a person.
So this extension reads the page you are looking at and sends that to Origano. Newspaper food sections, subscription cooking sites and pages whose content only appears once JavaScript has run all import normally.
What you can do from the popup
The extension speaks French and English, following your browser language.
What it reads, and where that goes
Only the page you clicked the icon on, and only at the moment you click. The content goes to your own Origano account and nowhere else. No tracking, no analytics in the extension, and no advertising anywhere in Origano, on either plan.
The permissions are the smallest set that can do the job. activeTab reads the one tab you are on, after you click. scripting runs that read. storage remembers your key and your last chosen recipe book. Access to origano.app talks to your account. The extension has no permission to watch your browsing, and no background script.
An Origano account is required
Origano is a recipe and meal planning app at origano.app. The free plan holds up to 50 recipes. Open Browser extension in the top-right menu of your account, generate a key, and paste it into the popup once.
