About this extension
Quiet Feed hides posts containing words or phrases you choose, on YouTube, Reddit and X. You have the option either remove posts or to hide them and leave a gap where they were supposed to be, in case you're curious what might have gotten blocked which you could check by enabling preview or the option to see what word caused the post to hide.

I built it to stop seeing the rage bait that kept turning up in my feeds, and scrolling got noticeably more pleasant for me. Your results will depend on your feed and your list. You could also use keyword filters for spoilers, topics you're sick of, or names they'd rather not see. The list is yours. There is no list included by default.

What it does
- One word list for YouTube, Reddit and X, instead of muting words separately on each site
- Separate switches for YouTube videos and comments, Reddit posts and comments, and X
- Hidden posts leave an empty gap by default, so the feed doesn't shrink and keep reloading. Full removal is available in settings
- A badge shows how many posts each word is hiding on the current page
- Preview mode dims matches instead of hiding them, to check whether a word is too broad
- Sensible matching by default: "cat" catches "cats" and "cat's" but not "category". Phrases and regular expressions work too
- Optional password lock on editing: a speed bump against your own impulses, not real security
- One on/off switch that pauses everything without losing your list
- Export and import your list as JSON
- No data collection: Quiet Feed makes no network requests and has no server.
