This extension has no developer-operated server. It does not sell or share data, and contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, accounts, remote code, or third-party libraries.


The extension reads the active Reddit URL after the user opens its popup. On an individual post it may read the original poster from page metadata. If that metadata is absent, it makes one same-origin request to Reddit's /comments/ID.json endpoint using the current Reddit session. That response stays in the browser.

When the user selects a Photon action, Firefox opens Photon with the public post or comment ID, subreddit, or username in the destination URL. This is an ordinary user-requested navigation.


The extension makes no image lookup when the popup merely opens. Only pressing Open Original Post transmits the current Reddit-hosted image URL to https://arctic-shift.photon-reddit.com/api/posts/search. The request uses HTTPS, omits credentials, sends no referrer, and asks only for the post ID, subreddit, title, and stored URL required to find the earliest exact match. The response is used immediately to open Reddit and is not stored.

The manifest declares this as required browsingActivity transmission under Firefox's data classification because a specific URL leaves the local browser. Photon's handling of its server logs is governed by Photon, not this extension.


Open Reddit images as raw images is on by default. It locally redirects validated Reddit media wrappers and adjusts the Accept header for explicit Reddit image hosts. It does not call an extension-operated server. Its on/off value is stored only in the extension's local browser storage and is never transmitted.

The extension does not read unrelated browsing history, clipboard data, cookies, bookmarks, downloads, personal communications, or authentication information.
