Searcherly Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026

Searcherly performs all parsing, rule matching, and result reordering locally in the browser.

• It has no backend, analytics, telemetry, account, or remote API integration.
• Searcherly does not send search queries, search results, browsing activity, rules, or settings to the developer or any third party.
• Rules (including domain, action, enabled state, identifier, and creation/update timestamps) and the global enabled setting are stored in the extension's local browser storage.
• While enabled, Searcherly also remembers up to 200 domain names seen in supported Google results, locally, to offer website suggestions in the rule editor. This list contains domain names, not search terms, full result URLs, or a browser-history log.
• The only host permission is https://www.google.com/*, used by the Google Search content script.
• Imported JSON is validated before any rule is saved. Exported JSON contains rules only.

Your searches are still sent to Google through your normal use of Google Search. Google handles those requests under its own policies. Searcherly processes the loaded results locally and does not send additional requests to a remote service.

Data retention and sharing

Searcherly does not operate a server and therefore does not retain or share data remotely. Local rules and suggestions remain in your browser until removed or the extension's storage is cleared. Turning Searcherly off pauses its page processing but does not erase stored rules or suggestions. Removing the extension clears its extension storage according to Firefox's storage behavior.

JSON import reads the file you choose. JSON export creates a local file containing rule domains, actions, and enabled states. Exported files are not uploaded by Searcherly and remain on your device until you delete them; uninstalling Searcherly does not delete your exported files.
