About this extension
TTSFlow is a lightweight, local-first Text-to-Speech (TTS) Firefox extension built for web novel readers. It turns long reading sessions on sites like Royal Road, WebNovels, Scribble Hub, and similar platforms into a continuous listening experience.
Start a chapter, put on your headphones, and let TTSFlow handle the rest. It can automatically continue to the next chapter, highlight the sentence being spoken, remember your reading position, and let you jump through the story with a click.
Continuous Chapter Reading: Automatically looks for a site's Next Chapter link and continues reading when you reach the end of the current chapter, so you don't have to restart the reader manually.
Sentence Highlighting: The sentence currently being spoken is highlighted as TTSFlow progresses through the chapter, making it easy to follow along while listening.
Click-to-Jump Navigation: Click any sentence on the page to immediately jump playback to that point in the story.
Persistent Reading Position: TTSFlow remembers where you stopped so you can return later and continue from your previous position.
System & Offline Neural Voices: Use voices provided by your system and Firefox with no additional downloads, or optionally install Piper neural voices for more natural speech. Piper voices run locally on your computer through WebAssembly.
Adjustable Playback Speed: Control narration speed from 0.5× to 2.5× to find the pace that works best for you.
Local-First & Private: No account, subscription, or cloud TTS service is required. Neural speech processing happens locally on your machine, and chapters do not need to be uploaded to a server.
Simple Reader Controls: Play, pause, move between sentences, change speed or voice, and close the reader from a compact overlay. Keyboard shortcuts are also supported.
One Active Reader: TTSFlow allows only one active reader at a time, preventing multiple tabs from speaking simultaneously.
TTSFlow does not start playing automatically just because you open a page. You choose when reading begins.
For a more natural listening experience, enable the optional Piper neural voices. Voices are downloaded individually, so you can keep only the ones you want.
Once a voice is installed, neural speech synthesis runs locally on your computer with no cloud API, account, subscription, or internet connection required for synthesis.
TTSFlow requires Firefox 140 or newer.
Give your eyes a break and turn your web novel sessions into a personal audiobook experience with TTSFlow.
