I use Video DownloadHelper in Firefox on Ubuntu to download tutorial videos for offline learning (I add subtitles and translations afterwards). Over 100 downloads and it has never let me down — it detects videos on almost any page, downloads are fast, and the settings are clear. No annoying ads or popups.
