Privacy policy for Xylonite Player (only Linux)
Xylonite Player (only Linux) by Polesz
Effective date: September 8, 2026
The extension handles the URL of the current web page when checking for
playable video or when the user chooses to play it or add it to the Queue.
The URL is passed through Firefox Native Messaging only to the Xylonite helper
installed on the user's own computer. The helper uses the locally installed
yt-dlp to contact the named website, or passes the address to Xylonite.
The extension and helper do not store URLs, retain browsing history, or send
data to the Xylonite developer. Data is not sold or used for advertising,
tracking, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
Playable-media detection is performed by the separately installed open-source
yt-dlp program. Playback is performed by Xylonite and its mpv-based layer.
The extension can be removed in Firefox Add-ons Manager. The helper can be
removed with the Xylonite package or uninstall-native-host.sh.
