Beware: LGBTQ+-hostile content in the Extension (Firefox 5.25 / Chrome 5.26)

I used this extension back when it was simply Stop-It and wanted to start using it again, but then I saw the latest update. I am disgusted by the way the extension now categorizes LGBTQ+ content as harmful content.

The extension explicitly describes LGBTQ+ material as “indoctrination,” “malicious,” and “dangerous,” and presents blocking LGBTQ+ content as a way of protecting children.

The wording does not merely describe a parental-control feature for blocking specific types of sexual or otherwise harmful content. It specifically targets LGBTQ+ material as a category:
> “Block all LGBTQ material and stop indoctrination in their tracks.”
> “No more LGBTQ on web search, keep your children safe from malicious and dangerous contents.”

This is particularly concerning because LGBTQ+ identity and LGBTQ+-related educational, informational, or non-sexual content are not inherently sexual or harmful.

I previously considered this a useful extension, which makes this update especially disappointing. I strongly recommend being aware of this change before installing or updating it.
