by Devin Rozsas, 2 years agoThe main reason I wanted this extension was to make YouTube stop spamming already watched videos, random playlists and useless shorts.
1) It doesn't block already watched videos, it just makes them less visible by hiding the thumbnail and dimming their links;
2) Sometimes it marks random videos as watched, but I never even clicked their links, even less watched them;
3) It cannot block playlists, as far as I've used it;
4) It blocks shorts successfully AND entirely (not just dim their links), which is good.
Update 23/Feb/2026: It's worse now. The button to hide videos won't even show up. I enabled it, restarted Firefox, and still not there.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Re'soul, 24 days agorandomly causes youtube to stop working due to "connection not secure" with the only way to fix it being to clear cookies and site data for youtube also since i started using this add on firefox will randomly freeze up and will often crash and forcefully close all windows, i've never had this happen with any other firefox add on just this one so for those two reasons this add on is kinda unusable due to how buggy it is and how annoying those bugs are due to how often they happen, over all the add on is fine would actually be really good if the issues were fixed but pretty much everything if not everything this add on does can be found in other more stable add ons that don't randomly brake youtube or firefox

posted 2 days agohi, like other persistent open source projects you can find 1000s of issues and wishes done here https://github.com/code-charity/youtube/issues . Your cookie issue was not posted there yet hence it may be rare or mistake, eitherway you may have a good experience using our bug report template there with some more specificity (often required)
'if not everything' the math doesn't work there, since we have very specific features. - Rated 5 out of 5by SmokeySalmon, 25 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 20007710, 2 months agoGenerally amazing and great features. But I have 2 features I'd like to ask for. 1 being a separate grid size options for shorts and for the side bar on video player. While I'm not doom scrolling shorts, I'm sub'd to a few channels that put out great quality shorts that'd I'd like to view. Shorts are just really large compared to normal thumbnails. It's a balancing issue choosing between smaller thumbnails vs huge shorts. 2, Sidebar thumbnails feel huge after installing this extension. If you could include an option to reduce thumbnail size and increase video title space, that'd be great. But 2 is honestly just personal preference. I'm using Zen Browser if that makes any difference.

- Rated 1 out of 5by tokumei, 3 months agoWhile watching videos on YouTube, playback occasionally stops on its own. I am aware that the website has a feature that stops playback after 15 minutes of inactivity, but this seems to be a different issue.
In addition, videos sometimes stop playing when I switch to another browser tab. In those cases, playback resumes as soon as I return to the YouTube tab. The behavior is somewhat similar to the YouTube mobile app, where playback may stop when the screen or app is switched.
Both issues tend to occur near the beginning of a video rather than throughout the entire playback session.
I did not experience these problems while the add-on was disabled, so I suspect there may be some compatibility issue between the add-on and a web service or browser feature. - Rated 5 out of 5by felda9000, 3 months ago
